IO Ninja provides quick access to a collection of network tools that can be used to test the IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity for various types of services or devices. The app can function as a terminal emulator, serial monitor, or network sniffer.
Network analysis tools that work right out of the box
Within the IO Ninja main window you get to activate a drop-down menu that contains all the supported clients (TCP Connection Socket, SSH Channel, UPD Socket, Serial, and File Stream), servers (TCP Listener Socket or Proxy), and monitoring tools (Network Sniffer, TCP Flow Monitor, UDP Flow Monitor) that can be used to test your connectivity.
Naturally, it is up to you to configure each tool: IO Ninja will log all activity, and you can either save the entire session or only the log files. The utility also offers you the possibility to export only the user selected data to a binary file for reference.
Test the IPv6 connectivity for various apps or devices
IO Ninja is able to work with both the IPv4 and IPv6 standards, can use any Unicode encoding for displaying the results, and also comes with an IDE that enables users that have programming skills to customize the app’s functions to better match their needs.
Since IO Ninja also emulates terminals, within its interface you can easily toggle between the console and log view and extract the information that interests you. Worth mentioning is that IO Ninja allows you to link sessions together and pass data from one to another.
Network analysis solution that can be customized using the Jancy scripting language
IO Ninja does not come with an extensive documentation, yet you do get to learn more about the Jancy scripting language that can be used to program the application to handle custom tasks.
Keep in mind that the IO Ninja app can be used free of charge only for non-commercial purposes: for commercial use, purchasing a license is required.
